10/7/2018 0 Comments Donation PledgesDear Members and Friends of Germantown Brick Church "Let us give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." 1 Chronicles 16:34 This is indeed a great time to celebrate and rejoice in the life of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren. We are looking forward to our new pastor, Greg Broyles, coming here the first of November. We have great expectations for his time with us. We are also looking toward improving and upgrading our church facilities. The congregational gathering approved a Capital Project on September 16th. We plan to install new flooring in the Fellowship Hall areas, Sunday School areas, make improvements at the parsonage, and install new playground equipment during the next few years. A request to fix or replace the front doors also came from the congregation. The Leadership Team and Steward's feel that it is time to start a financial campaign to raise funds to pay for this project. Of course, with these improvements come financial needs. To pay for these improvements we will be using memorials ($6,000.00), gifts, and donations. The estimated amount that we expect to need is between $50,000.00 and $55,000.00. Our hopes are that you prayerfully consider what you can give to help complete this project. We know that our congregation will be, as we have been in the past, faithful and generous in our giving. Some ideas for giving are: One Time Gift Monthly A Three Year Commitment In Honor Of or In Memory Of For your convenience, a downloadable form is below. At the September 16 Congregational Business Meeting the Ministry Team on Stewards proposed the 2018 Capital Project to Improve Several Church Areas which was voted on and approved by the congregation. The plan lists several improvements for the church. Improvements for the Fellowship Hall include installing vinyl flooring in the Fellowship Hall, kitchen, storage room, and step landing, painting the walls, and replacing the blinds and curtains. Improvements for the Sunday School areas include installing vinyl flooring in the hallways and landings, new carpet or vinyl in the school rooms, repainting as needed, and replacing as needed. Improvements to the parsonage include painting the walls and ceiling, removing and replacing old shrubbery, removing old carpet and refinishing hardwood floors, and removing the cement wall behind the parsonage. The plan also includes purchasing new playground equipment, such as swing sets and slides. Funds for the various projects will come from the land exchange between the Church and the County, pledges, and memorials.

9/9/2018 0 Comments Food4Future Yard SaleThank you to everyone for your support of the Yard Sale to Benefit the Food4Future food assistance program at Boones Mill Elementary School. It was a great day of fellowship and outreach to our community. We raised almost $2,000 that will go to the Food4Future program. The donations of goods, time and effort to make this event possible is very much appreciated!
